La Melodia
Music Wine Decanter
Overview
Opening a nice bottle of wine, pour it in the decanter, hit the play button, and you can enjoy a perfectly activated wine after a time period of one song. By choosing different types of wine in La Melodia app, it automatically generate a series of song that fit the wine you’re about to drink. You can also choose the music you prefer to pair with certain wine. All in all, La Melodia gives wine lover an abundant experience with great wine and music.
La Melodia is a wine decanter that use the vibration of music to oxidize wine. With the speaker below, the time people spent just to wait for a ripe taste of wine are turned into music. Creating an elegant and delicate drinking experience.
Waving speaker case constrains the contact with glass pot within several points, which makes room between, allowing sound to spread out to the air.
Narrow bottle neck and cone shaped bottom. Easier to handle and connect with the speaker. In the meantime, it improves chances of surface contact between liquor and air.
Recharging with Type C. No battery exchanging problem and attached wire.
Inside the decanter. Minimizing controling interface on the device, only 1 button left for power. Interactions can be done in the App.

App Interface
Users can control the songs and decanting options via the app by Just following the steps:
Select by song / Select by wine type.
Play song.
Enjoy well-flavored wine when the song finished.
The speaker connects wirelessly to the smart phone, thus can be used as a regular music player.
Process
Paint
I want the color of the speaker as realistic as polished aluminum. In the first attempt, I tried to reach it by spray paint. But the outcome was not ideal due to the rough surface a spray paint caused. In the second attempt I use baking paint and clear coat to varnish the surface. The result was beautiful and it was close enough.
Glass
To make a glass model all by myself seemed impossible since I do not have any relevant experience and intruments. So I tried to contact several glass manufacturers. Most of them didn’t think it was possible to make only one of this glass model without producing a metal mold. Forturnately, one of the manufacturers agreed to help me if I can make some wooden cones that fit the bottom of glass pot. And there it is, though it didn’t have the exact thickness and body flow as the rendering, it can still fit on the speaker model perfectly.
